Visa Information

We are liaising with the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship’s, International Event Coordinator Network (IECN) to facilitate the application and processing of visas for participants attending ICPADS'08. This conference has been listed on IECN, if you provide us with your details we can register you with IECN which can help streamline the visa application process for you.

How can the IECN assist intending participants?

Depending on your current country of passport, you are encouraged to apply for the appropriate visa 4-6 weeks before departure for Australia. Your passport must be valid for travel and the period of your intended stay.

Travel Information

Getting Here

Melbourne Airport (MEL) is a destrination of many direct international flights. It is located on the North-western section of Melbourne and is approximately 25 kms from the Melbourne's CBD on the Tullamarine Freeway - less than 25 minutes by car. Services to/from airport:

  • Taxis - are available from the ground floor level of Melbourne Airport, outside the International Terminal and both domestic Terminals. Expect a taxi fare of around A$80 to A$85 for a return trip between the CBD and Melbourne Airport.
  • Bus Service - Skybus offers a shuttle bus service from the airport to Melbourne CBD and city hotels. This service operates 24 hours, 7 days. Buses run every 10-15 minutes throughout the day and every 30-60 minutes overnight. (Skybus Hotel Shuttle operates from the city 0600-2200 Monday to Friday and 0730-1830 Saturday and Sunday.)
    • Adult one way tickets cost $16 / $26 return
