Each Deakin scholarship provides financial assistance, with several incorporating Work-Integrated Learning opportunities or a mentoring component. Academic excellence scholarships are awarded to high-achieving students who are offered a place at Deakin in undergraduate and honours courses.
Deakin recognises its responsibility to make higher education affordable for those in need of assistance by offering a comprehensive range of generous scholarships for students from disadvantaged backgrounds to support them in their studies at the University. This is reflected in the growing number of access and equity, accommodation and Indigenous scholarships available at the University. These scholarships are developed specifically for people who might not otherwise have the opportunity to access higher education, such as students from disadvantaged financial backgrounds; regional and rural backgrounds; students with a disability; mature-age students; and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
