Content

This unit provides an extensive overview of Languages pedagogy for pre- and in-service teachers. It considers the ways that languages are learnt by diverse students in different contexts.

This unit aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of the context of languages education with a view to critically evaluating and reflecting on the history of the discipline, the contemporary policy context the implementation of current approaches to pedagogy provision.

In this unit, students explore language acquisition theory and its implications for language teaching, and a wide range of languages teaching approaches. Students will apply different strategies for teaching, assessment and evaluation, and implement these in their assessments.
