Career opportunities

Our graduates provide health and diabetes education to individuals, carers, health care professionals and their communities. On the completion of subsequent additional requirements graduates may be eligible to register as a Credentialed Diabetes Educator.

Postgraduate

Postgraduate (further study)

A postgraduate qualification can be undertaken by students who have already completed an undergraduate degree or possess significant, demonstrable work experience. Postgraduate courses include graduate certificates, graduate diplomas, master’s and PhDs, as well as specialist programs for industry professionals.

Research

Higher Degrees by Research (supervised research)

Research degrees are research based master’s or PhD programs that focus on a single area of expertise. They provide students the opportunity to carry out highly specialised research under expert supervision.

The program involves different assessment strategies, which suits students with diverse professional, educational and cultural backgrounds.

Benchmark course

Our course, the first and longest running in Australia, has a unique teaching partnership with diabetes clinicians Australia-wide. This ensures an alignment between the course curriculum and current clinical and evidence-based practice.

Research with us

Our academic staff are accredited diabetes educators, as well as active researchers, covering a broad range of illness and health-related areas, including diabetes, obesity and mental illness.

Accreditation

This course is accredited by the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA). You may also be eligible to register as a Credentialed Diabetes Educator (CDE) on completion of additional ADEA requirements.
