Deakin STEM Scholarship

Deakin University, Australia, is working to help the innovators of tomorrow achieve their potential. The Deakin Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Scholarship is a 20 percent scholarship for international students applying for undergraduate, postgraduate coursework in the disciplines of Architecture and Built Environment, Engineering, Information Technology, Science or Environment.

20% of your student contributions (tuition fees). 

Payments will be applied to your fee record after each applicable census date.

*Recipients must continue to meet eligibility requirements during their Deakin studies to continue receiving this scholarship; see eligibility criteria below. Other fees not covered by this scholarship may apply. The scholarship will not be applied to study beyond the normal duration of the course (whether because of additional units undertaken or repeated units).

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible you must:

  • be a citizen from China, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka or Vietnam
  • be a new student who commences their course at Deakin in Trimester 2 (2017), Trimester 3 (2017), Trimester 1 (2018), Trimester 2 (2018), or Trimester 3 (2018)
  • meet the entry requirements for their course, including English language requirements
  • maintain a weighted average mark (WAM) of least 65% during each year of study in order to maintain the scholarship for the following year (across 8 credit points)
  • be studying an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework Deakin degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Environment, Information Technology^ or Science. The Master of Science (Research) degree is also eligible.
  • achieve the relevant scores for your current program as detailed below:

^ Please note that information systems courses and business analytics courses are not eligible for this scholarship. Double degrees are also not eligible for the STEM Scholarship, except for D364 - Bachelor of Design (Architecture)/Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours), which is an eligible course.

* To be eligible you must at minimum have successfully completed at least a three-year bachelor’s degree, or comparable, of an acceptable standard from an approved university or other educational institution. Please note, course entry requirements can differ depending on the course and additional entry requirements may apply. Please refer to the specific course webpage for detailed course entry requirement information.

How to apply

All students who apply for eligible courses will be automatically assessed for the scholarship, and will be advised of the outcome. There is no need to complete a scholarship application form.
