Science and Industry Endowment Fund (SIEF) postgraduate scholarships
The Science and Industry Endowment Fund (SIEF) was founded by statute in 1926, at the same time as the predecessor organisation to the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). It acts as an endowment mechanism for science in Australia.
SIEF has funding available for up to six fellowships in 2016 as part of the John Stocker Postdoctoral Fellowship program.
The process of awarding fellowships begins with an invitation to Australian universities, Publicly Funded Research Agencies (PFRA) and research institutes to submit proposals. Preferentially, research projects are collaborative projects between PFRAs and universities.
The proposal, which must be submitted via the university research office (or equivalent), will identify the eligible candidate, proposed project, lead supervisor and any other collaborating partners.
Proposals are assessed by a panel of experts drawn from universities, publicly funded research agencies and industry representatives.
