Study commitment

Students will spend on average 150 hours over the trimester undertaking synchronous and asynchronous teaching and learning activities for this unit.

This will include 10 hours synchronous learning activities and 20 hours of mentored experience. Students will spend 12 hours undertaking guided asynchronous learning activities.

This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site.

Content

This unit is the first of three units in the Bachelor of Nursing (Clinical Leadership) that focus on developing students’ knowledge of and capability for leadership. Students will explore concepts underpinning leadership and management and develop knowledge of and capability for leadership in the clinical environment.

Through a mentored experience, students will have the opportunity to observe the role of the clinical leader and link the importance of clinical leadership to inform safe and quality care.
