Course overview
The Bachelor of Communication (Honours) is a one year degree designed to provide students with advanced academic and professional skills for employment in the communications industries and as a pathway for further learning. The course offers a fourth year of study to graduates of Deakin’s Bachelor of Communication degrees in Entertainment Production, Public Relations, Media and Journalism.
The Bachelor of Communication (Honours) provides students with the opportunity to undertake advanced study and applied research in the areas of Entertainment Industries, Media Industries, Journalism and Public Relations following successful completion of a three-year bachelor degree. The Bachelor of Communication (Honours) will enable students to broaden and deepen professional knowledge and skills through advanced scholarly engagement with communication theories and models applied to professional practice; the degree will emphasise applied research.
Course rules
To qualify for the award of Bachelor of Communication (Honours) students must complete 8 credit points of core units. These may be completed in a single year of full-time study (4 credit points per Trimester over 2 Trimesters) or part-time equivalent.
