Course overview

Deakin's Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science/Bachelor of Business (Sport Management) is designed for students who wish to gain expertise in both exercise and sport science and business (sport management). Graduates of this combined course will be equipped to provide enhanced professional leadership in the field and make a marked impact on the continued development of the Australian sporting industry.

The exercise and sport science aspect of the course is designed to equip you with the necessary skills, understanding and attitudes to pursue a professional career in the exercise and sport fields. The core units will provide you with a sound understanding of the sciences underpinning both competitive sport and recreational physical activity, and the relationship between physical activity and health. You may choose your two credit points of elective units from the areas of physiology, metabolism, behaviour, movement and physical activity. The business (sport management) aspect of the course is designed to equip you with a solid foundation in business studies, and the unique knowledge and specialist skills required by sport managers in Australian organisations, as identified within the industry.
