ContentThis unit introduces students to the study of contemporary communication in new media. It offers a critical vocabulary with which to analyse the various discourses, cultures and technologies associated with the new media. The unit examines some moral, legal and ethical implications of the new media and links them with contemporary political, social and cultural concerns such as new literacies, power relations, gender, race, ethnicity and multi-culturalism.
