On campus students are required to attend practical classes and are highly recommended to attend seminars. Weekly readings are prescribed and to support flexible delivery of unit content, online lectures are available for each topic.

Content

The unit addresses the study of several aspects of child development (cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, biological, motor, developmental disorders) from infancy to adolescence using a variety of theoretical orientations, and apply the processes of development to understand real-life problems.

Assessment

One minor written assignment (brief plus reflection 1000 words) 20%, one major written assignment (1500 words) 40%, examination (2 hours) 40%
