A number of practical experiences (workshops) will be held throughout the trimester.

Content

This Honours unit will complement the work of research supervisors by teaching and developing selected skills which are important in research and advantageous in careers other than research. Topics to be addressed include effective written and verbal communication skills, the presentation and defence of a research proposal, the preparation of a written research proposal, and the writing of a literature review and the writing of a draft publication.

Conduct a systematic literature search and use the Endnote bibliographic software program (or similar) to successfully store and accurately cite references.

Examine and critically analyse the literature surrounding the chosen field of study and use this information to write a critical and comprehensive literature review. Synthesise this information for an introduction to a draft publication.
