Content
Topics include: the nature and purpose of criminal law; sources of criminal law (common law and codes jurisdictions); classifications of offences; elements of criminal liability; participants in criminal activity; homicide; assault; property offences including 'white collar' crime; attempt; defences; criminal investigations (prosecution and defence); the roles of the DPP, NCA and Crown Solicitor; bail; summary proceedings; preliminary examination into indictable offences; trial of indictable offences; rules of evidence; sentencing; appeal.Assessment
