Typical study commitment:

Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site.

1 x 1 hour on-campus lecture and 1 x 2 hour on-campus seminar each week

Content

This unit critically examines the challenges of managing human resources in a global context. The unit takes a comparative approach to evaluate the cultural and institutional factors which influence international human resource management practices. Main learning contents cover discussions of globalisation trends, organisational structures and labour management strategies of multinational companies as they respond to different national cultures and institutions, and to the dynamic changes of labour market conditions in the global marketplace.
