ContentThis unit assumes no previous specific accounting knowledge and concentrates on financial accounting with the objective of students understanding the basic principles and procedures governing what and how information is processed. This includes an analysis of financial reporting outcomes to interpret what the outcomes reveal, together with any shortcomings of processes that may impact upon the quality of information presented. Students will make use of several software tools to facilitate learning, including a commercial accounting package, as part of the learning process.
