Typical study commitment:

Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site.

Educator-facilitated (scheduled) learning activities - on-campus unit enrolment:

1 x 1 hour online lecture per week, 1 x 2 hour seminar per week (10 weeks), 1 x 3 hour practical experience (field trip) per trimester.

Online independent and collaborative learning including 1 x 1 hour online lecture per week and 1 x 2 hour online seminar per week.

Content

This unit will examine the historical and contemporary context of Indigenous people’s engagement in natural resources management. By exploring different understandings of the relationships to the natural environment, students will be required to critically reflect on how different ways on knowing have influenced natural resource management in Australia, and on a global scale.
