Content
This unit covers the chemistry of hazardous substances; fire and explosion; oxidants; corrosive agents; gases and vapours; toxic substances; biohazards; regulatory aspects; legislation; exposure standards; material safety data sheets; air sampling and applications of chemical analysis, including spectrometry, chromatography, asbestos counting, direct reading instruments and quality control in chemical analysis, biological monitoring and biohazards. It also provides the basis for understanding of the investigation of accidents and crime involving chemicals such as fire and explosion.Assessment
