Content
SRT159 focuses on residential construction in terms of the technical and regulatory requirements. In this unit, students will gain an understanding of Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC), planning permits and other regulatory requirements through the analysis of construction drawings, site visits and relevant state and local government legislation. Likewise, students will gain an understanding of the construction process through preparing preliminary residential construction documentation and the documented observation of different stages of house construction over the course of the trimester including photographs and hand drawn sketches.
