Fourth year, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
Geelong Waterfront Campus
When I first started university, I found having no set study hours a challenge. I had to organise a routine that worked for me, and allowed me to have a balanced lifestyle.
When I first started at the Waterfront Campus, I found it difficult to find my way around Geelong city as well as around Campus, as I had relocated from Warrnambool.
I joined DUSA and the Outdoors Club through which I went on a number of trips and tours. To make friends and stay healthy, I also got involved with the Geelong Athletics Club and joined a mixed netball competition.
Getting involved in extracurricular sporting clubs was important for me socially, and for my physical health. My advice for commencing students is: put yourself out there and make new friends, and don’t be afraid to ask people for support if you need it.
