ISS-Connect
Volunteering in our program will involve providing new international students, who will be commencing their studies in T2 of 2013 with a supportive network through friendly, practical and competent assistance. Our volunteers are highly valued by the University because of their role in welcoming new of students to Deakin and the raising of cultural awareness amongst all Deakin University staff and students.
APPLICATIONS FOR T2 (469 KB) ARE NOW OPEN
Participation in the program will involve:
- taking part in a compulsory two-day training program on Wednesday 3 July and Thursday 4 July 2013 (Returning volunteers only need to attend training on 4 July)
- compulsory availability during the International Student Orientation on Monday 8 July 2013.
- taking responsibility for and working on a number of tasks that are part of the program
- organisation of and participation in a number of further activities up until Week 4 of trimester
Rewards will include:
- further developing valuable leadership experience, communication and cross-cultural skills
- a custom T-shirt with Deakin logo and program inscription
- a fabulous 'appreciation' lunch at a restaurant for all volunteers after completion of the program
- a certificate of participation
- the opportunity to make new friends from different parts of the world.
