How do I?

Get advice about housing problems
Renting accommodation outside of your own country may be very different to what you are used to. Expectations differ and the rental laws can be very different to what you are used to. It is not unexpected, therefore, that you may need assistance and advice on the lease you have signed or the state of the accommodation you are living in.

The Off Campus Housing Service has Housing Officers on each campus who may be able to provide you with advice and assistance if you are having problems. We recommend that you contact a Housing Officer in the first instance if you are experiencing problems. Your campus Housing Officer will be able to refer you to other areas for advice and assistance if necessary.

An International Student Adviser can also assist you by referring you to external service providers for assistance if required.

Consumer Affairs Victoria and the Tenants Union of Victoria are two Government run organisations that exist to provide assistance in matters relating to rental accommodation. Please check t heir websites for important information.
