Students' gateway to Campus

How do I?

Get involved at Deakin

Getting involved in University life as well as in the wider community is essential to your success.

There are many ways that you can get involved.

The International Student Support team runs the ENGAGE program which is a broad based intercultural engagement program which aims to actively engage students with their culturally diverse peers in a positive manner. We have a section on our website called Connecting with the Community with links to community services as well as social and religious services.

We also run the ISS-Connect volunteer program which is a highly successful peer mentoring program for commencing international students. If you'd like to get involved and help new international students, this is the program for you!

The SHINE program has been specifically designed for HDR students and their families. It aims to assist social inclusion for this special needs student cohort.

Always check with your Faculty Office to see what's on offer in the way of involvement. You may be able to get involved as a student mentor or take part in one of the many other Faculty activities aimed at helping you to get involved.

The Get Involved website will give you a lot of information and provide essential links to get you started.

Come on! Take the plunge and get involved! Make your experience in Australia one to be remembered!
