Financial problems

Please ensure you take personal responsibility for managing your own finances. Borrowing money from or loaning money to other students should be avoided (including your friends) as there can be unforeseen consequences such as difficulty paying tuition fees or other financial commitments.

If you run into unexpected financial difficulties contact either Financial Assistance or an International Student Adviser (ISA) at your campus.

Student loans for full-fee paying students
If you are running short of funds to pay for your living expenses (such as rent), you can apply for a loan from the Division of Student Life.

Emergency student loan for fees
The Emergency Student Loan for Fees is for students who are facing proven financial hardship through changes in circumstances outside their control. This loan is for enrolled students so they can continue their studies at Deakin.
