iPhone cellular ActiveSync and Deakin Wi-Fi configuration

iPhone cellular ActiveSync configuration

These instructions will set up an iPhone that will enable the device to use ActiveSync to synchronize mail, contacts, calendars and tasks with the Deakin Exchange server.

These instructions configure the settings to manually synchronize with Exchange.

  1. Click Settings > Accounts
  2. Click Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  3. Click Add Account...
  4. Click Microsoft Exchange
    1. Email: < deakin username > @deakin.edu.au
    2. Domain: du
    3. Username: < deakin username >
      1. Note: To find the "\", click .?123, click #+=, click \
    4. Password: < deakin password >
      1. Note: You will need to update this password whenever you change your Deakin password
    5. Click Next
    6. In the window Unable to Verfiy Certificate, click Accept
    7. Connection will fail, enter Server:services.exchange.deakin.edu.au
    8. Select what you want to synchronize and click Save
  5. Click Settings > Fetch New Data
    1. In Push, click Off
    2. Click Manually
      1. Note: Only select other options if you have an unlimited data plan

iPhone Deakin Wi-Fi configuration

These instructions will set up an iPhone with access to the Deakin Wi-Fi.

  1. Click Settings > Wi-Fi
  2. Click eduroam
    1. Username: < deakin username > @deakin.edu.au
    2. Password: < deakin password >
      1. Note: You will need to update this password whenever you change your Deakin password
    3. In the certificate prompt, click Accept
  3. Click the blue arrow >
  4. Under HTTP Proxy, click Manual
    1. Server: felix.its.deakin.edu.au
    2. Port: 3128
    3. Authentication: On
    4. Username: < deakin username >
      1. Note: You will need to update this password whenever you change your Deakin password
    5. Password: < deakin password >
