Mail for Exchange cellular ActiveSync configuration

The following instructions are for all Mail for Exchange devices and will enable the device to use ActiveSync to synchronize mail, contacts, calendars and tasks with the Deakin Exchange server.

Note: These instructions configure the settings to manually synchronize with Exchange. Synchronization can be done by selecting Options > Synchronize.

  1. Visit the Nokia website and follow the instructions.
  2. Note: For the remaining steps, follow the User Guide documentation and select the defaults unless otherwise instructed.
  3. Installing Mail for Exchange
    1. Install the Mail for Exchange software
    2. When prompted to Create a Profile, select Yes
  4. Connection settings
    1. Exchange server: services.exchange.deakin.edu.au
    2. Secure connection: Yes
  5. Credentials settings
    1. Username: < deakin username >
    2. Password: < deakin password >
      1. Note: You will need to update this password whenever you change your Deakin password
    3. Domain: du
  6. Sync content settings
    1. Choose desired items to synchronize
  7. Sync schedule settings
    1. Peak: Manual
    2. Off Peak: Manual
    3. Note: Only select other options if you have an unlimited data plan
  8. Calendar settings
    1. Defaults
  9. Contacts settings
    1. Defaults
  10. Task settings
    1. Defaults
  11. email settings
    1. email address: < full.name > @deakin.edu.au
  12. Out of Office settings
    1. Defaults
  13. Select Options > Save
  14. Select Options > Synchronize
  15. If the device lock activates for the first time, enter: 12345
  16. Select Options > Exit
