Nokia Deakin Wi-Fi configuration
These instructions will set up a Nokia E51 and similar models with access to the Deakin Wi-Fi.
- Click Tools, then click Settings, then click Connection, then click Access Points
- Click menu Options > New access point
- Click Connection Name and enter:DeakinSecure
- Click Data bearer
- Select Wireless LAN
- Click WLAN Netw. name
- Select Search for netw
- Select DeakinSecure
- Verify that network status: Public
- Verify that WLAN netw. mode: Infrastructure
- Verify that WLAN security mode: WPA/WPA2
- Click WLAN security settings
- Verify that WPA/WPA2: EAP
- Verify that WAP2 only mode: off
- Click EAP plug-in settings
- Click menu Options > Enable
- Click EAP-PEAP
- Click all others unticked
- Select EAP-PEAP
- Click menu Options > Configure
- Click General Tab
- Verify that Personal Certificate: (not defined)
- Click Authority certificate and select Thawte Premium Server...
- Click User name in use: User-configured
- Click User name and enter: < deakin username >
- Click Real in use: User-configured
- Click Realm and enter: deakin.edu.au
- Allow PEAPv0: Yes
- Click Allow PEAPv1: No
- Click Allow PEAPv2: No
- Click EAP tab
- Click EAP-MSCHAPv2 only
- Click all others unticked
- Select EAP-MSCHAPv2
- Click menu Options > Configure
- Click User name and enter: < deakin username > @deakin.edu.au
- Verify that prompt password: No
- Click Password: < deakin password >
- Note: You will need to update this password whenever you change your Deakin password
- Click menu Back
- Click Cipher tab
- Click RSA,AES,SHA
- Click DHE-RSA,AES,SHA
- Click DHE-DSS,AES,SHA
- Click menu Options > Exit
