There are printers available on all campuses. Printer support is available every day, except University holidays.
All printing is chargeable with the costs being automatically deducted from your Deakin Card balance. You can also manually transfer money from Deakin Card if needed. You will need to confirm the cost of your printing before the document is sent to the printer. There are several things you can do to reduce printing costs and paper wastage. See the Deakin Card website for information on reloading your Deakin Card.
Sometimes you may want to print on a printer other than the default printer for the laboratory, for example if the queue is too long or you need a colour printer. You can select an alternative printer.
If you need to remove a print job, or see where your jobs are in the queue, you can check the printer job status.
If your job doesn't print you should check your printing credit balance.
There are scanners available in many of the computer laboratories. Instructions for using each scanner are on the lid, and these instructions will work with all current models. There are also scanners available in each of the libraries. In addition, a free scan to email function is available on the Lexmark copiers. This will send the image as an attachment by email.
All scanning is subject to copyright regulations, see the Deakin University Copyright Guidelines and Requirements for details.
There are photocopiers available in the libraries on each campus. You can perform A4 and A3 colour photocopying and use paper saving duplex options. Library staff can assist you with using the photocopiers.
All photocopying is chargeable with the costs being automatically deducted from your Deakin Card balance as the card is swiped. See the Deakin Card website for information on reloading your Deakin Card and using your Deakin Card in the Library.
