Student Rover program

Every year Deakin University offers a Student Rover program where current students are employed to assist other students in the libraries and computer labs. To be eligible for one of these casual positions students must meet the following conditions:

  • Be a Deakin University current student at the time of applying for the position and during the term of employment
  • Supply a Deakin University academic referee at the time of applying for the position (applicants who supply a non-academic referee will not be considered)
  • Be available to complete a Student Rover training day in early to mid-February (those unable to attend will not be offered a position)

As a Student Rover, you would help fellow Deakin students with general IT and Library enquiries, conducting library and computer lab tours in Week Zero and the first two weeks of the academic year, and completing set roving shifts in the libraries and computer labs.

It's a great opportunity to work in a fun and flexible environment, with positions available across all four campuses. These positions are available for trimesters 1 and 2 with reduced shifts offered in trimester 3.

Student Rover training dates 2012:

  • Warrnambool: Tuesday 7 February
  • Geelong campuses: Tuesday 14 February
  • Burwood: Wednesday 15 February

Deakin University acknowledges the traditional land owners of present campus sites.
