How can I remember my password but keep it secure?
The easiest way to remember a password and keep it secure is to pick a sentence that reminds you of the password. For example:
- Hope my car gets through 2 semesters! (Hmcgt2s!)
- What time is Class in room 9? (WtiCir9?)
- I hope i remember my deakin password! (Ihirmdp!)
- i like my lucky Number #86 (ilmlN#86)
Activating your Deakin username and password (new and returning students)
If you are a new or returning student and you need to activate your Deakin username and password go to https://www.deakin.edu.au/password/activate/.
About your username and password
Your Deakin username and password gives you access to many of the IT facilities at Deakin University. These resources are here to assist you during your studies at Deakin and include:
- Your Deakin email address
- Your Deakin home directory
- Access to StudentConnect
- Access to the internet from the Deakin network
- Access to computer laboratory workstations
- Access to printing from the labs
- Your access to the Deakin Portal
- Your access to CloudDeakin
It is important to change your password regularly and not disclose it to anyone else.
Note: Change your password via the desktop on your workstation if you are on campus and using a Deakin workstation. The help sheet titled Password: managing and changing on the eSolutions Publications website provides instructions to help with this.
Alternatively, you can change it online at www.deakin.edu.au/password.
