There are lots of ways to get degree-related experience while you study. Even a small amount of relevant work experience could give you the edge you need.

Get industry experience

In many occupations related work experience is essential for a getting a job. Even if it’s not a requirement of your degree, industry experience is recommended. Many organisations offer vacation work and work experience programs.

Volunteering

Most graduate employers are interested in your community involvement on campus, in your local community and overseas. Through volunteering you can enhance specific skills that will make you more employable.

Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

Develop industry-relevant skills by completing the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. The international award formally recognises your commitments and self-discipline, with the added bonus of enjoying some truly memorable achievements.

Short courses and leadership programs

A short course or leadership program might be just what you need to get your foot in the door in the workplace.
