A real estate agent’s job is to lease, manage, value, buy and sell residential, rural, commercial and industrial property on behalf of their clients.
A career in real estate, therefore, is one with opportunities to move around into different areas, meet an interesting and wide array of people, and undertake a variety of duties and responsibilities.
As with any job, it is necessary to be aware of what being a real estate entails. Understanding the realistic demands of the job should be an important factor in your decision making process. While it can provide huge job satisfaction to help a client buy their first investment property or home, the job does come with a few demands, such as weekend work or long days and late nights.
Intense competition and a volatile market can make the job a stressful one, but having said that, financial rewards can be great, especially if you’re buying and selling commercial and residential property for clients.
