A general rule to follow is the more conservative the field, the more conservative your interview clothes should be. It is also usually a good idea to dress a little more formally for an interview than you usually would as an employee.
First and foremost, no matter what you wear, your clothes should be neat and clean!
A few days before the interview give your outfit a test run. Make sure that everything fits and there are no loose buttons or threads. If you are wearing a skirt, make sure that you can sit down comfortably. If you are wearing a tie, practice tying it so that you are not fumbling on the day of the interview.
