Position title and short job description:

Staff Health and Wellbeing Coordinator - I coordinate the Staff Health and Wellbeing program which includes:

  • organising the WorkHealth program,
  • booking and promoting group fitness classes,
  • promoting staff birthdays,
  • organising a 10,000 steps program,
  • producing the staff newsletter and
  • conducting needs assessment on what staff want from the Staff Wellbeing program.

Working highlight so far:

Coordinating the Global Corporate Challenge for staff at a community health service.

What are the things you enjoy most about your job?

Seeing the health benefits staff are getting as a result of participating in the group fitness classes.

An area in which you have needed assistance:

Managing the Staff Health and Wellbeing budget.  I'm not very experienced at this and need as much help as I can get!

What do you intend to do in the future?

Expand the range of activities offered in the Staff Health and Wellbeing program and aim to increase the number of staff involved.

#1 tip for current students studying your course:

Do as much volunteer work or work experience as you can.  It really does help you gain your first position in the health promotion industry.
