IT Manager. I maintain the company servers, network, and overall IT operations. Also develop ERP software for the company.

What are the things you enjoy most about your job?

Doing things I am most familiar with, while learning how houses and factories are built from the ground up.

Working highlight so far:

Pushed standardised workflow while developing ERP; centralised access to data everywhere in the globe through VPN and other technologies. The company started with no networking (stand-alone computers).

An area in which you have needed assistance:

Accounting.

What do you intend to do in the future?

Planning to become a stand-alone consultant for IT infrastructure planning and if possible sell the software I have written.

#1 tip for current students studying your course:

Don't focus on the books or lectures only. You are unlikely to be doing IT right after graduating, so think of how IT can be applied in day-to-day life instead of thinking about doing it within an IT department only. Even excellent Office software skills help.
