Position title and short job description:

LOTE (Indonesian) teacher – I teach Indonesian across the middle and upper school, and currently am organising an Indonesian Day to celebrate Indonesian Independence.

Working highlight so far:

Having students who are enthusiastic about learning a language. Hopefully the upcoming whole school Indonesian Day will be a highlight too!

What are the things you enjoy most about your job?

Collaborating with a great staff, having my own LOTE room, seeing students interested in Indonesian culture and language and eager to learn, meeting Indonesians in the course of my work, striving to do a better job.

An area in which you have needed assistance:

My speaking and listening skills in Indonesian still need lots of work!

What do you intend to do in the future?

I’d like to continue doing what I am doing now, extend the program to Prep - 2s, improve my Indonesian speaking skills, and retire to Indonesia!

#1 tip for current students studying your course:

If you are learning another language, just talk – even if you know you are incorrect! The more you use it, the more you will improve!
