Position title and short job description:

Case Manager. I case manage 16 young adults from the ages of 16-25. My role is to assist each of my clients with the purpose of not having them relapse and have another psychotic episode.

Working highlight so far:

Being the Manager of Men’s Health and Mental Health for a remote Indigenous community with a total population of around 3500 people.

What are the things you enjoy most about your job?

As soon as I graduated I moved to Darwin in the Northern Territory for my graduate year. I then moved to work at a hospital in Nhulunbuy in Arnhem Land. After Nhulunbuy I moved to Elcho Island which is one of Australia’s most remote communities. I plan to move overseas to Africa or the Middle East to work in the future.

An area in which you have needed assistance:

Having good mentors who help me to not take on more than I should.

#1 tip for current students studying your course:

Get in a hard working group of students for group assignments. Don’t wait till the last minute to study and complete assignments. There is a reason why your studying not just to pass but to look after people properly in the future.
