R&D incentive opportunities for engineering graduates

KPMG's Research and Development Incentives group is a professional team assisting a diverse range of local, national and multinational clients. As one of the world's leading professional services networks, KPMG has over 135,000 people in member firms in more than 140 countries. KPMG is a leading provider of audit, tax and advisory services and offers industry insight to help organisations negotiate risks and perform in dynamic and challenging business environments. While an accounting and professional services firm may not seem an obvious place for engineering or IT students to seek employment, the Research and Development incentives team at KPMG offers many opportunities for people in this area and has the largest practice in Australia with over 100 staff nationally.

The Research and Development team's client base operates within a diverse range of industries including:

  • construction engineering,
  • mining,
  • mechanical engineering,
  • energy and resources,
  • civil engineering,
  • environmental sustainability,
  • automotive,
  • mechatronics,
  • chemical engineering,
  • information technology,
  • food technology
  • and many more.

As an Advisor within the team you can explore and apply the scientific or engineering principles studied as part of your tertiary education, and/or previous work experience, to the specific circumstances present within the development projects undertaken by our clients. The team incorporates a diverse range of professional backgrounds including law and accounting and while graduates are able to specialise in the technical aspects of the work, they also have the opportunity to develop strong broad based professional and consulting skills. There is also ample opportunity for local and interstate travel to view and understand the client's business operations.

Graduates with strong written and oral communication skills, well developed analytical and interpretation capabilities and a keen interest in technology should contact the KPMG graduate program for further information.
