Pathway to a position as a system analyst

During my final year studies I applied for a six month internship at Accenture. During my internship, I worked hard to establish myself as a valuable resource within the team and my efforts paid off. At the end of the internship I applied for a Graduate position and I am happy that very happy that I was successful! within Accenture’s Security Practice!

What attracted you to Accenture? 

The friendliness of the people and the great training program. I love the fact that people are always willing to put what they are doing on hold and help advise and guide me.

What excites you about your job? 

I have been interested in Information Technology Security (IT Security) since I was young. I love working in this area as I am constantly confronted with new challenges that I solve using the skills I have gained. Working with experienced people allows me to learn something new every single day.

Briefly tell us about the work you do? 

Information security involves protecting information and information systems from unauthorised access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification or destruction. My current project requires my team to create the new IT Security infrastructure for one of the biggest telecommunications company in the world.

What has been your most interesting experience working with Accenture? 

As soon as I joined Accenture I attended a two week training program (Solution Delivery Fundamental). I met some fantastic people and learnt valuable new skills.

Can you elaborate how you have applied your knowledge in University you have learnt since joining Accenture? 

Since working in Accenture I have realised how relevant and important the knowledge gained through University is.. I have had the opportunity to expand my knowledge and understanding with the exposure to large and complex systems with the client project I am currently working on.
