Frequently asked questions

What is Deakin Card?

Your Deakin Card is the only accepted form of identification for students and staff while you are on campus. You are required to carry it at all times.

Please note that all Deakin Cards designs are accepted as valid, provided they have not passed their expiry date. To update your card please contact Deakin Central.

Your Deakin Card can be loaded with money and used for a variety of services around campus including photocopying, printing, retail, vending machines and residential meals.

Look out for the icons on campus to see where Deakin Card can be accepted.

It is your student or staff ID card provided by the Division of Student Administration (DSA) when you enrolled or commenced working at Deakin University.

My card has expired / is about to expire. What do I do?

If you not received your card and you are an enrolled student, please visit the Deakin Central office on your campus or email enquire@deakin.edu.au. Please ensure that your correct address is listed in Student Connect.

Please note, once you have received your card it may take 24 hours for the system to update your details. If you need to use your Deakin Card straight away, please ask the Deakin Central staff to contact the Deakin Card office on 1800 450 503 to manually update your details.

Please note: If your card has expired it will no longer work until you get a replacement card - even if you have money on it. If you are no longer studying at Deakin and have money left on your Deakin Card you are entitled to a refund. Details on how to obtain a refund are outlined in the Terms and Conditions for Deakin Card stored-value use.
