As a residential student you will be using your Deakin Card every day - see it as your meal ticket during your time at Deakin University! Take care of your Deakin Card and ensure that you have it with you at all times. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have queries regarding your residential allowances - our contact details are on the back of your card.
Every Deakin Card is printed with a Cash Plan that allows cardholders to load funds onto their card to pay for goods and services across campus. Residential students have additional plans on their cards to allow them to receive evening meals and purchase food items throughout the day.
Residential students at Geelong Waurn Ponds and Warrnambool campuses have access to their own residential dining hall where evening meals are provided on specific evenings.
When a student choses the appropriate Meal Plan it is loaded to their Deakin Card at the beginning of each trimester. To obtain these meals, the student brings their Deakin Card to the dining hall and the card is swiped through a reader that deducts one meal from the student's weekly meal allowance. This allowance is renewed every Sunday - how easy is that?
The dining room caters for special dietary needs and provides Asian, Halal and vegetarian meals, among others.
When a Resident choses their Meal Plan they may also be entitled to receive a Resi $ payment each week. This payment is added to the Resi $ Plan and Residents may use it at selected food outlets*.
*Note: Resi $ Plan can only be used at food@deakin (Alliance) outlets.
