Financial Assistance Grants

General grants

A Grant is awarded on the basis of financial need. In some cases academic performance may be taken into account.

A limited number of grants are made available each year from the Student Loan Fund to assist students in financial need. For further information, contact a Financial Assistance Officer at your Campus.

Student Housing Rental Grants

The Student Housing Rental Grants are available in Trimester One to eligible students for the current academic year. Students must submit a signed application form providing details of enrolment, financial situation and demonstrate that they have a genuine need for financial support from the University. The Grant is a fortnightly payment of $70 to help successful applicants pay their rent.

Emergency grants

Deakin University wishes to help you stay at University or continue with your plans to start University.  To do this we often put together package of support for students impacted by natural disasters in Australia. These packages can include emergency grants. If you have been impacted by a recent natural disaster and would like further information, please contact Financial Assistance.
