Become a buddy in Trimester 3, 2013

Every trimester hundreds of students from around the world come to Deakin University to begin their study abroad or exchange experience. To give them a chance to meet current Deakin university students (and the other way around) the Study Abroad & Exchange Office has established 'The Buddy Program'.

The application window for Trimester 2, 2013 has closed, unfortunately. Don’t be deterred, though; we are on the lookout for Trimester 3, 2013 buddies! Interested? Please keep an eye on this website as more information on how to apply will be announced soon.

The Buddy Program is designed to help Study Abroad & Exchange (SA&E) students settle in and find their way around Deakin University and our city. The main intention of the program is to:

• Help create a supportive network for SA&E students yet to arrive
• Offer SA&E students friendly, practical and competent assistance upon arrival
• Answer questions from SA&E students about Deakin University and Australia
• Actively assist SA&E students to settle in post-arrival
• Help SA&E students make a smooth transition into Deakin University and Australian life

And that's where you come in!

Buddies are students like you – students who have an interest in studying abroad and travelling, know a thing or two about Deakin University and love meeting new people and making new friends form different parts of the world.
