Costs

The costs of studying overseas vary greatly depending on your lifestyle and where you go. As a rough guide, most students spend between A$10,000 and A$12,000 per trimester while studying overseas. Also, the cost of each program differs


 

Exchange program costs


Tuition fees 

Exchange students don't pay:

  • Tuition fees to your host university 

Exchange students continue to pay usual Deakin tuition of:

  • HECS
  • Full fees
  • International student fees

Travel and living costs
You are required to pay for:

  • visa application and processing fees
  • return airfare to your host country
  • domestic travel within the host country
  • medical and travel insurance
  • accommodation (may also include an application fee for some on-campus student residences)
  • text books
  • meals

Personal expenses

There are many ways that can help you cover the costs. These costs will vary depending on destination and personal spending habits. You may want to include costs for traveling within the host country during breaks and/or travel elsewhere before or after your program starts and finishes.
