Students' gateway to Campus

Study Information

Short-term study programs

Students who participate in short-term study programs are eligible for the OS-HELP loan if they meet all other eligibility criteria.

If you are currently receiving Youth Allowance or Austudy you may be eligible to continue receiving the benefit while participating in the Summer or Winter program.

Tuition fees

Exchange agreements are based on reciprocity, therefore you don't pay tuition fees to your host university as an Exchange student. You do, however, continue paying your HECS, full fees or international student fees at Deakin.

Travel and living costs

You are required to pay for

  • visa application and processing fees
  • return airfare to your host country
  • domestic travel within the host country
  • medical and travel insurance
  • accommodation (may also include an application fee for some on-campus student residences)
  • text books
  • meals

Personal expenses

These costs will vary depending on destination and personal spending habits. You may want to include costs for travelling within the host country during breaks and/or travel elsewhere before or after program start and finish.
