The Isi Leibler Prize is awarded to the student who has submitted a masters or PhD thesis approved over the previous year, in any Faculty of Deakin University, which best contributes to advancing knowledge of racial, religious or ethnic prejudice in any time or place, or to advancing knowledge of multiculturalism and community relations in Australia.
Applications will be invited by an announcement placed on the Web, on University noticeboards, in Network and published in the Handbooks and student newspapers.
A prize of $1000 is awarded. The prize is presented at one of the annual graduation ceremonies and an appropriate endorsement made on the successful student's academic record.
An application for the prize using the relevant application form (67 KB) must be received within the applicant's particular Faculty Pro Vice-Chancellor's office by the closing date.
APPLICATIONS EXTENDED: For students who completed their course in Trimester 3, 2011 or Trimester 1 or 2, 2012: applications will close at noon on Monday, 14 January 2013.
Students who will complete their course in Trimester 3, 2012 will be invited to apply in the 2013/14 round of student prizes and awards.
