Unit Sets

'Unit Set' is the term used to describe a set or group of units (subjects), which together, make up an approved major sequence or specialisation.

Not all courses include major sequences and/or specialisations as part of the course rules. Some courses have a prescribed set of units that must be completed to satisfy course requirements and structure.

Types of Unit Sets

Major sequence (unit set) is a group of related units, formally approved by the Academic Board and listed in the University Handbook. A successfully completed major sequence will be listed on your academic transcript.

Specialisation (unit set) is a group of related units, which are usually a further study within a particular area or field of study. A successfully completed specialisation will be listed on your academic transcript.
