Recommended settings for Discussion

Discussion in D2L can under certain circumstances (where there are very many responses to a single post and users are using particular versions of browsers and they have changed the default display settings) display so slowly that the posts 'time out'. This can be remedied most effectively by users changing the display settings back to the default. Alternatively users may change the browser they use.

Discussion ‘Preferences’ can be access in two ways:

Option 1

  1. Select ‘Preferences’ under My Settings from My Home.

  2. In Preferences page; select the ‘Discussions’ tab and ensure the settings under the Personal Settings  are selected as shown below:

Option 2

  1. Select ‘Discussion’ in the top navigation menu from within a Unit Site

  2. From the Discussion Areas side menu, select ‘Settings’
  3. Ensure the settings under the Personal Settings  are selected as shown below:
