Orientation: Make a great start at Deakin!

Meet other students and have fun!

Orientation is a really busy time, but there are also lots of opportunities for you to relax and have fun. The key to enjoying yourself is to get involved from day 1.

Orientation starts with the Host Program where your student Host will introduce you to other students from your Faculty and give you some time to get to know each other.

During the program your Host will introduce you to other students from your course and give you some time to get to know each other. Your Host will also be on hand to talk to you about their experiences of Deakin and answer any questions you might have.

You'll then go on a tour of the campus so that you can quickly get to know where your lectures will be, where to go for help, and where to grab a good coffee or a bite to eat.

In between your Faculty sessions you’ll also have plenty of time during Orientation to sign up for clubs and societies and meet other new students who have the same interests as you.

The Deakin University Student Association (DUSA) also provides bands, free lunches, markets, comedy and movie nights, competitions and a huge range of other activities to get involved in.

Deakin University acknowledges the traditional land owners of present campus sites.
