Preparing for class

Week 1 can come around very quickly, so it's important to be as prepared as possible for the start of classes. Orientation is an excellent time to get organised so we've developed a checklist of things to do before Week 1 rolls around.

The links below give you a bit more information on some of these important areas to become familiar with, which are included in the checklist:

Student Timetable Allocation and Registration
STAR is Deakin's personalised timetabling system that allows you to register online for activities including lectures, tutorials, seminars etc. Before each trimester you must login to STAR and register for your classes.

StudentConnect
This portal is where you can access your enrolment information, and check on your course, unit and address details, print exam timetables, view results and re-enrol online.

Deakin Studies Online
DSO is Deakin's online teaching and learning environment. This is your link to unit resources, assessments and discussions with your unit chair and other students.

Books
DUSA Bookshops stock text, reference and general books, as well as course materials, and are located at all four campuses, online and via a phone order centre. Booklists are posted in DUSA Bookshops at least one week before each trimester commences and can also be viewed online.

Important dates
Important dates outlines and explains key dates for the year, however you should make sure you check this page regularly as dates can change.
