Getting access to the Deakin Data Warehouse

Access to Data Warehouse reports and query tools is via the Cognos 8 portal.

Access to the Data Warehouse is restricted to Deakin staff members who have completed the relevant paperwork and have been registered as Cognos 8 users.

There are currently two levels of access:

  • Report users can run predefined reports, such as load monitoring reports and faculty drill-through reports. This level of access also includes saving report views and setting report schedules and the output format for reports (web, PDF, Excel, email)

  • Query users can run standard reports and also create ad-hoc reports using Cognos Query Studio.
